Today’s update is short and sweet as there isn’t one 🤣

I’ve heard absolutely nowt. Nada. Nothing. Not a peep.

So, rather than sitting around waiting for life to start again, we’ve booked a family holiday because life has to carry on! Knowing my luck, the appointment will come through for when we’re away 🫣

I have got one thing which I should mention as anyone who has/gets cancer will understand – I’ve had this pain in my right leg for ages (way before I knew about the big C coming back). It only ever happened at night so I’d pretty much convinced myself it was sciatic or menopause… or just getting old 🤷‍♀️🤣

Lately though it’s started hurting during the day as well and it’s definitely getting worse, so after a gentle (or not so gentle!) prod from the family, I’ve booked in to see the doctor this afternoon instead of waiting to mention it to oncology. Of course I did what everyone tells you not to do and consulted Professor Google.

First answer = sciatica.

Second answer = bone metastasis.

That really narrowed it down 🙄🤣 and of course cancer brain goes straight to the second option as every ache and pain means it’s somewhere else right?! The last time I went through this I think I’d convinced myself I had about 6 different cancers including cancer of the big toe – no joke!

I’ll get it checked properly and hopefully it’s the first Google that’s right.

I’m really wanting to write a light-hearted happy blog while I’m still in this funny limbo land. I’m ok I promise – I’m not being a misery – just honest writing of what’s happening!

    have a brilliant holiday ❤️just what you need since you never really go away (😳) well done for being a big girl and booking a doctor s appointment , I’ll ignore the Googling bit ( to be fair I’d do that ) 🫣.

    I think having a holiday will do you good , reclaiming your life back n sticking 2 fingers up to cancer , telling it it’s had it’s time now it’s my life and do one ❤️

    unfortunately it’s Sod’s Law that news will come while you’re away but so what home or away ( was going to break out the neighbours tune 😆) it doesn’t matter you will be where you are 🤷🏼‍♀️❤️

    Love your attitude of not putting life on hold and getting that family holiday booked – that’s exactly what memories are made of! ☀️✈️

    The waiting and uncertainty are often the hardest part, and it’s completely understandable that “cancer brain” sends you down the Google rabbit hole where every ache suddenly becomes something scary. I think anyone who’s been through cancer will recognise that feeling.

    And a huge well done for getting your leg checked properly rather than sitting and worrying about it. Hopefully it’s something far less dramatic than Professor Google suggests.

    Chin up and keep writing these honest, funny updates. The mix of humour and honesty is refreshing. Sending lots of positive thoughts and hoping you hear something soon…❤️
