This is me

šŸŽµ This is me – The Greatest Showman cast (https://youtu.be/wEJd2RyGm8Q?si=lVi3iYfwyDSy-ebz)

This could be the shortest Molly update yet, because, dare I say it, this week hasn’t been too bad.

I’ve taken it easy, rested when I’ve needed to and, apart from being sick one night and the usual tiredness and lethargy, I’ve escaped most of the aches, pains and other lovely side effects this time round – here’s hoping it’ll be the same next week šŸ™

I managed a trip to the pictures with my sister, who I haven’t seen properly for ages because she’s had shingles and has been keeping well away from me. It was lovely to have a proper girly outing again, made even nicer by bumping into another friend there with her sister.

But let’s talk about yesterday – it pretty much summed up my current existence in three photographs.

  1. Morning: bald Sam, off for bloods.
  2. Afternoon: cap-on Sam, at the gym.
  3. Evening: wig-on Sam, out for dinner with our lovely neighbours.

The three looks of me, and I realised that i absolutely hate, hate, hate wearing a wig!!!

We went out with neighbours for a gorgeous italian and a few drinks, so i dressed up and chose the blonde wig. Sadly, I felt so self-conscious in it. I didn’t feel like me and, despite having a fabulous night, I couldn’t wait to get home and take the bloody thing off. It seems, this time around, that I’m far more comfortable wandering around with my bald head on show than I am pretending I’ve got hair.

I suppose there will be occasions when I’m dressed up and don’t quite feel ready to rock up completely bald. Maybe once I get a wig cut and styled exactly how I want it, I’ll feel differently. Or maybe wigs just aren’t for me – I haven’t quite worked that bit out yet.

But for now, given the choice between trying to look ā€˜normal’ with hair or just being me bald, I’ll take bald.

This is me ā¤ļø (sideways for some odd reason!)
