🎵 Enigma – Return to innocence (https://youtu.be/Rk_sAHh9s08?si=A4bx3jzfjWOhmgvw)
Chemo number 6 completed on Monday and, so far, I’m doing okay.
My husband has been away on a mini break with the lads for a few days, so I’ve mainly been chilling at home and enjoying having absolutely nobody to answer to (He’d tell you i don’t actually answer to him when he’s here to be fair!)
I have noticed one slight development….. I appear to be looking increasingly like Buddha.

I’m fairly sure this new look will come as something of a surprise to my husband when he gets home, but I reckon another layer of fake tan and the transformation will be complete.
The funny thing is, I’ve actually been reading more and more about Buddhism recently and finding that quite a lot of it resonates with me. Maybe the universe is trying to tell me something. Or maybe I’m just bald and need to lay off the cakes. Or maybe it’s just a bad photo!
Anyway, back to the serious stuff.
I spoke to my oncologist today. My bloods are looking good, which is great news, and we now know what happens after chemo number 9. There’s no week off for good behaviour unfortunately, so the following week I move straight onto the next lot which is EC: (epirubicin and cyclophosphamide).
Apparently this bit is likely to be tougher, particularly the first one because I’ll be going into it with the cumulative effects of the previous nine weeks of chemo already on board.Joy!
Radiotherapy is still a question mark. The team are going to discuss my case together and decide whether they think I need it, so for now there’s nothing for me to do except wait and see.
And perhaps that’s where my newly discovered interest in Buddhism is rather well timed as I can’t control what they decide and I can’t control how EC is going to make me feel. I can only deal with the bit that’s actually in front of me.
Today I feel okay, and I’ve achieved enlightenment (to stay off the cakes) and got the Buddha look. Winner! 🧘♀️😂
